Hi,

How to change the Asset category of an asset for which the Depreciation is run for a period of six months and what will be the net effect after changing the categories.

can anyone explain it step by step.

Hi Uma,

U can change the asset category at any point of time. The following are the steps for that -----

1)First goto the Asset Workbench window select the asset for which u want to cange the category and click on find

2) Click on open button it will open the asset window.

3) Now in this window directly change the category.

Note: The depreciation method will get effect as per asset category.
Ex: In the last 6months u calculated depreciation @10% now u want to calculate it @12%. In the current month the system calculate the depreciation to the assset is 18%(12% + 1% for each month i.e., last 6months)

***If u want u can continue the previous method of depreciation***

Prerequisites ? 1. Asset should be register under asset work bench
2. One deprecation should be run against asset

Navigation ? (mass transaction / reclassification)

Specify ?from? category and ?to? category as well as specify the asset, which you want to transfer. And run the reclassification
