Hi,

The Seconday segment tracking is already there in 5.10.2.

This is used at the time of Year end, revaluations and translations. The us e of this is that at the time of year end closing all the balances of assets, liabilities and revenue will be grouped by the balancing segment wise. But your client req is that they want to detail wise like based on the department wise.

So for the department segment they will enable this seconday segment qualifier so that balances will be grouped like

01.001 ****
01.002 ****
02.001 ****

like that same thing at the time of revaluation and translations also. But if you wnat to use this ,you can not use the average balancing method and you can not use balancing and natural segment for this.

2.And coming to Mnagement segment qualifier, this will be used for the to top managemtn,to prepare the reports.Based on this segment, they will generates the reports. You can use any segment for this.

Regards,
Ravi Manchu.

hi muskan
secondary tracking segment
it designates another segment in chart of accounts in addition to balancing segment to track retained earnings, cumulative translation adjustment and unrealised gains and losses. This segment can be any segment, except the balancing segment, natural account segment or intercompany segment.this segment can be the same as your cost center segment.
