Hi,
What exactly a Move Order does?
And how does it related to the Sales Order( I mean for each line in sales order a move order needs to be generated?)

Any ideas?

Hi,

Move Order is the functionality in Oracle Inventory Module. When it come to the relation of Sales Order the type of move order is named as Pick Wave Move Order. This is generated & transacted based on the setups at the Inventory organization level parameters.

Each Shippable line in an order will be placed on a move order line based on the pick slip grouping rule.

Hope this clarifies, also you can refer to the metalink Note:114156.1

To move an item from one sub-inv to another sub-inv , one needs to use a move order. The move order will mention detail info on the item from where to move where etc.

A move order can be generated manually or through any other source (e.g. Sales Order).

Through move order the inventory will get updated and will also result in financial updation of inventory valuations
