Hi,

I defined 'Accounting Key FF structure and defined their values.

While defining Set of Books, when I select RETAINED EARNINGS FF combination, it is erroring "Your Retained Earnings account must be a balance sheet account".

I checked many times my KFF setup/values, they are OK.

Please anyone guide me where I might have gone wrong.

Hi Nadeem ,

Have you filled in values in respective value set for all the segments in accounting flexfield structure .

The code combination you are trying to enter while giving out retained earnings account is matching with the existing codes in value set ?

Have you given flexfield qualifier for company and accounting segment as "Balancing segment " and " natural account " segment respectively ?

Make sure you don't have Flexfield qualifier chosen as Balancing segment other than company segment in your COA .

Did your compilation of AFF run successfully ?

Lastly , check if your accounting flexfield is in Freeze mode or not .

Give these a shot , it might help you .

Thanks,
Kareem.

Hi Nadeem

Could u pls check ur Account segment qualifier, bcas It should be either asset/liability type (i.e. balance sheet Item) If not system will not allow u to choose that ac.

Thanks
