what are the situations we get the status of line as backordered

If you don't have instock quantity in your inventory to satisfy your order.

Miss. Sureka,
Reasons for getting Back-ordered:
1. If there is insufficient quantity in the inventory.
2. Some times it will be back-ordered even though there is enough quantity in the inventory and if you choose the wrong location for picking.
Ex:- Wrong sub-inventory or wrong locator.
In most of the cases, wrong locator will be chosen which was happend to me just few days ago.
Action to be taken: First you need do PROJECT TRANSFER which is nothing but a LOCATOR TRANSFER and then try to book the order once again.
