Hi Folks,

Just trying to understand the concept of rounding up for Amount fields in oracle financials module.

I believe system always 'round-up' the values based on the precision we would have set for the currency definitions in GL.

Is there a way to change this or is there any settings/ profile values to round down or nearest..?

In Payables there is Rounding option for Tax calculation, but not for other amount fields.

Just to add on can I confirm that it works this way..?
Is it the way apps round amounts if precision is set to 2..?
I believe in Apps, it always rounds 'Up' as shown below for Amount field.

Up down nearest
1.423 1.42 1.42 1.42
1.425 1.43 1.42 1.43
1.428 1.43 1.42 1.43

Not able to understand the concept of Nearest rounding rule used for Tax calculation.

Can somebody help..?
