Difference between Canceling and Voiding

Hi can any one tell me what is difference between void and canceling either invoices or payment.
If there is any difference will there be impact on GL Balances

Invoices can be canceled & payments can be voided and canceled.
If you void payment then only payment is void and you can make new payment but if you cancel payment then invoice also cancel and you can not make new payments against the invoice.

How to find Payment batch which is under process.
Is there any request so we can cancel all the payment batches

Hi,
You can find the status of batch using %ing% in payment batch status column.
Cancelling:You can cancell the invoice using cancel invoice chcek box.
Void:You can void the payment using viod check box.
After voided the payment do the accounting and accounting entries generated as follows.
Cash A/c dr
Payables control Account Cr
