Hi,
Subledger accounting is a rule based accounting engine which is introduced in R12. You have not specified in which environment you are working.
In discrete manufacturing, the seeded SLA will work, you need not to setup SLA.But if you need condition based accounting then you can setup SLA for discrete mfg. enviornment also. Then you have to copy the seeded SLA setup (owner -- Oracle), copied item owner will be -User.
You have to setup the subledger accounting method from Application Accounting Definition to Account Derivation rule. For details you refer to the R12 documentation over SLA.
Or If you are in Process manufacturing enviornment, then you must have to set up your own SLA to post the journal in Purchase, inventory, Manufacturing, OM and costing transactions.
