Employees receive PTO once a year and have to "use it or lose it" by the end
of the calendar year. It does not matter if the calendar year ends mid-pay
period. Their new PTO is available for them to use on the first day of the
new year, again regardless of where it is in the pay period.
End of last year and beginning of this year, we had a timecard that crossed years. It went from 12/31 thru 1/13.
Because it crossed years, we had all kinds of issues regarding employees trying
to record their vacation, sick, personal time that they were granted on Jan 1 of the new year. The ss time card was telling them
that they had nothing available to them and because of this, they were unable
to submit the timecards. This led to numerous phone calls and modifications to
accrual balances, etc.
We will have this issue again this year. I know there has been an enhancement request (bug 3398829)with Oracle for a long time, but no progress. Does anyone have any suggested workarounds.
