I am very new to Oracle Assets. I am trying to solve few problems related to Oracle Assets.

I would like to know what is Amortization of Assets. When do we Amortize an Asset.

Pls. let me know.

Hi,

When the adjustments are made to the existing assets with amortization. changes are considered in depreciation calculation from the date of amortization.

Suppose if the depreciation method is changed without amortization date. application will calulate the depreciation in new method from date
in service to till date & pass the adjustments entry.

But if the same is changed with amortization the system will only consider the revised dep calculation from the date of amortization.
