Its charging the expenditure organization ( to which employees belong) for the work done by it's employee in the project owning organization.

This is in short very brief. Please refer to the oracle projects costing guide. It does have good example.

Thanks,

Hi

Cross Charge is the act of entering a transaction where the expenditure organization and the task owning organization are different.

Usually for some companies, projects span across organization and country boundaries and it is common for them to share resources across such projects and also divide work into multiple projects for easier execution and management.

Cross charge functionality, enables project managers to view current total costs of the project, regardless of where or who performed it.
