Receipts of old periods lying in interface table

Hi Members,
We have a situation of having a few receipts belonging to previous periods (Now closed) yet in the interface table and as periods are closed we are not able to get them into AR (These receipts are coming from a third party system into oracle).
We have decided to have the GL dates changed for these receipts in the interface and then import them.
Is this the right option or is there another option better to handle this kind of situation? Kindly share your experiences......
