Payment issue

Dear all,

Iam getting the below note when i try to save the payment information in payment workbench and not able to save it.

"NOTE:Paper Document numbering operation failed."

I have search in metalink, they are saying apply patch. Metalink id -755115.1.

If any one faced this issue earlier,Please help without applying any patch can we resolve this issue?
