What is the Operating Unit?

Hi,

Can you please explain any one WHAT IS THE OPERATING UNIT?
Wye do you need to define it.

In our company we have business at 4 locations but they define only one operatin unit?

Please expain me?

One Operating Unit is mandatory and more than one you need to create for further management and security reasons. Few modules operate at OU level so if within that module if you need partition then you need to add OU. AP, AR, CM, OM etc are examples.
